The Louisiana State Energy Office, operated by the Secretary of Department of Natural Resources, has decided to allocate EECBG funds form DOE's EERE.  The allocations are listed under Secretary's Allocations.

The eligible uses of funds are:

1. Development of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy

2. Technical Consultant Services

3. Residential and Commercial Building Energy Audits

4. Financial Incentive Programs

5. Energy Efficiency Retrofits

6. Energy Efficiency and Conservation Programs for Buildings and Facilities

7. Development and Implementation of Transportation Programs

8. Building Codes and Inspections.

9. Energy Distribution

10. Material Conservation Programs

11. Reduction and Capture of Methane and Greenhouse Gases

12. Traffic Signals and Street Lighting.

13. Renewable Energy Technologies on Government Buildings

14. Any Other Appropriate Activity

To get the most out of your EECBG Stimulus money, you are advised to follow the proposed METRICS of:

• Jobs created and/or retained

• Energy (kwh/therms/gallons/BTUs/etc.) saved

• Renewable energy generated

• Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduced

• Costs saved

 We can help you develop a Strategy to accomplish your goals and maximize the funds you can receive: 

The Basic elements of the Strategy we can prepare will include:

– The development of a summary of measurable goals and objectives

– A description of how funds will help the Parish achieve goals and objectives

– Locating adjacent units of local governments receiving funds and see how to work with them

– Sharing information and coordinating with the State on energy related matters

– Developing sustained benefits beyond funding period through leveraging mechanisms

– Development of a strategy for fraud, waste, and abuse to insure transparency

GGCS is currently assisting 5 Parishes and 2 Cities in developing their strategies for the EERE Stimulus funds.
